SKY LANTERN QUESTIONS

Do Sky Lanterns pose a threat to the environment?

Traditionally Chinese Lanterns were made using a wire to connect the fuel cell to the bamboo base. This could take months to break down and posed a threat to wildlife and farm animals. Sky Orb's lanterns were the first on the market to use a 100% biodegrable fireproof wool to hold the fuel cell on, thus posing no threat to either the environment or wildlife.


Could Sky Lanterns set a building on fire?

Providing you follow the safety instructions, they are safe to use and shouldn't set someone's house on fire. If you let them off on a calm, still day in a park, they will rise quickly and clear buildings. They then wont drop until the fuel has extinguished; asheat obviously rises.


How far and high do Sky Orbs travel?

It's hard to say exactly how high and far Sky Orbs travel as this depends on weather. We've had reports of them reaching 500m high and traveling a mile; hence why we advise not to let off within 5 miles of an airport or 1 mile of the coast! The flame in Sky Orbs burns for around 7 minutes. This is enough to carry the lantern out of view, it's pointless burning longer. Some manufacturers claim they burn for over 20 minutes but if they actually do, then frankly this is dangerous!

Are all your products in stock?

The stock figures on the website are real time so if it's showing in stock on our website, it'll be in stock and available for quick despatch from our warehouse.

 

I've added something in error, how do I remove from my basket?

Simply click the CART link on the right hand side and then use the plus and minus buttons to add or remove items. Click the trashcan icon to remove that line completely from your order.

 

 

DELIVERY & PAYMENT QUESTIONS

 

How quickly will I get my order?

We despatch your order the same (working) day if completed before midday. Depending on the size of your order we use either Royal Mail 2nd Class or Home Delivery Network. These options usually take 2-5 days.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro. In addition we accept Paypal for quick a simple checkout and payment.

How do you debit my card?

Your card statement will show as "VP - skyorbs.co.uk"

 

Do your prices include VAT?

All our prices include VAT at the current rate.

 

Which countries do you deliver to?

We deliver to the United Kingdom, Europe and USA/Canada. For postage quotes to other countries, please contact us for a quote.
However, Sky Lanterns are currently banned in Austria, Finland and Malta so we do not ship to these to these countries. 

 

What if I'm not in when delivery is attempted?

If you are not present to accept your order when delivery is attempted, our delivery partner will post a card through your letter box requesting you to call them to re-arrange another delivery or collect from your local hub. If you do not contact them within 7 days, the order will be returned to our warehouse and we do reserve the the right to charge additional postage to send out to your again.
